This year’s CAPE 2-Day Event took place on 7 – 8 June at our CAPE Partner Jaguar Land Rover’s research facility in the International Digital Laboratory (IDL), Warwick Manufacturing Group, University of Warwick, Coventry.
The program started with the CAPE Steering Committee meeting on 7 June, followed by the events on 8 June: CAPE Lecture Series, CAPE Acorn Award Winners’ Presentations and CAPE Projects Review Meeting, which had a broad audience consisting of CAPE partner representatives, Jaguar Land Rover staff, Warwick University members, as well as members from the Engineering Department, Cambridge.
CAPE Lecture Series
With the support of Cambridge University Engineering Department (CUED), the CAPE Lecture Series were held outside of Cambridge for the first time in CAPE’s history. The following lectures were given by CUED academics:
CAPE Acorn Post-graduate Award Winners and their Presentations
2015 Yuanbo Deng & Pawan Shrestha – Computer Generated Holography with reduced zero order
2016 Lu Bai & Jingyun Zhang – The Digital Distributed Antenna System (DDAS) over Internet
2016 Robert Nishida & Richard Goerke – Air Filter – Ultraviolet Electrostatic Precipitator (UV-ESP)
2016 Kenichi Nakanishi – Free-standing Three Dimensional Graphene Network
All the presentations were received with great interest by the audience. The CAPE partners and JLR expressed their interest in expanding their existing collaboration scopes. Follow-ups between interested parties are already on-going to discuss potential collaboration projects.
